New Year, New Hope, Making Change!

Barbara Waller has sent an email to NSMC with important encouragement to support one another using our “empathy muscles” and the numerous ways CLE works with children to do just that and to be a force for good in the world that is not always so good. Please read the entire email that includes photos, a story about Jordan (someone we have been involved with), and the development of their Distance Learning Support program.

Celebrate Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month! Follow Creation Justice Ministries social media to learn about amazing women who have made a positive difference in God’s creation. Also check out “Desertification in Africa is an Intersectional Problem, and Women are Stepping up to the Challenge” by CJM board member Susu Lassa and last year’s “Women’s History Wrap Up”.

Aluminum Water Bottles

When you hear the statistics, you see how giving those you love a reusable (and recyclable) aluminum water bottle is also a way to love the Earth: Landfills already contain more than two million tons of plastic bottles; every year 1.5 million barrels of oil are used to manufacture plastic water bottles; those bottles take more than 1,000 years to biodegrade.

Write to Law and Policy Makers

In a letter, state why an environmental issue is important to you—and to others. Tell your story; speak up for justice. Indicate you are a constituent. Policy makers pay more attention to personal letters from individuals, and they need to hear a broader religious perspective than they often assume.
