For the past ten years, Advocate Condell Medical Center has hosted an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at the medical center’s Centre Club in Libertyville.
This year, the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at 4:00pm. Refreshments will be provided after the event.
The Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, and Muslim community members have planned this intergenerational event together. We are encouraged to attend this national celebration with people of all faiths. There will be sacred readings, prayers, and music from various religious traditions.
We are encouraged to bring new or gently used children’s books (for up to 6th grade readers). Collected books will be donated to Bernie’s Book Bank. Free will donations will be collected at the event. Fifth percent of the collected funds will be donated to Feed My Starving Children, a faith-based non-profit organization which packs and ships meals to children in 70 countries. The remaining fifth percent of the funds will be distributed equally to participating local food pantries.
