This past Sunday, we harvested a total of 73 pounds of veggies at the Prairie Crossing Farm. That included beets, bok choy, and arugula, which were all delivered to local food pantries and community groups. Thank you to Prairie Wind Family Farm for allowing us to glean their fields.
Our next gleaning date is coming up from 1 to 5 p.m. on May 19th. If you or a friend you know can glean with us, please RSVP to email@example.com, and we’ll send a confirmation email with additional information about what to bring, wear, etc.
If you can’t stay for the entire time, no worries! You can also come at 2, or 3 p.m. Please let me know what time you plan to arrive so that we can coordinate to drive you out to the fields.
We host gleaning events every Sunday throughout the summer and early fall, 1 – 5 p.m. at the Prairie Crossing Farm, 32400 N. Harris Rd., Grayslake.
Visit http://libertyprairie.org/calendar/gleaning/ for more information about the program. Please let me know if you have any questions via firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to see you on the farm this summer!
