Expect to meet people who welcome you and care about you. We are a community following Jesus and we help each other in this journey.
One of the strengths of worship services at NSMC is the emphasis on shared leadership and participation. Planning a service involves a number of people, from the worship planning group to the worship leader, music leader, and musicians. We encourage creativity in the worship planning so that the gifts each member has to offer can be fully appreciated.
At North Suburban, we are fortunate to have a large number of musically talented people and a strong commitment to music as an essential part of worship. A large group of people in our church volunteer to be music and song leaders.
Among the various instruments used in our services are piano, guitar, violin, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and various percussion instruments.
For musical resources in the service, we rely on the Worship Book (the Mennonite Hymnal), Gather (published by GIA publications), our own North Suburban songbook, and other music as taught by individuals.
Members of the Worship Design group coordinate resources and provide support for our musical efforts.
Christian Formation (Sunday School) starts at 9:15 a.m., followed by a fellowship time at 10:00. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.
Dress comfortably for our services because we are more concerned with you and not what you wear. Most people dress casually.
