Attention all apple pickers. Barbara Waller and I plan to go apple picking to Al Westerman’s farm on Thursday October 12th, meeting at the farm at 4pm. Al lives on Russell Rd, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois at the Wisconsin border. Al has his own apple orchard that is meticulously maintained and with several “heirloom” varieties that are wonderful. It is late in the season but he still has ones he considers “long keepers”. Good for storage for several months in a cool place. Bring bags for the apples. He weighs the bags at the end and charges per pound.
Email me if interested in going. We can carpool from my house leaving around 3:30pm if anyone wants otherwise we can meet at the orchard.
